Parents and Friends Association
Wyndham Parents and Friends Association (PFA)
Who are we?
All parents and carers of children at Wyndham Primary School are automatically members of the Parents and Friends. Wyndham Parents and Friends are a group of parents, carers and friends who are willing to give a little of their time voluntarily to raise funds for Wyndham Primary School. We are not a formal group – we aim to meet for coffee termly (usually on a Friday) and more often in the run up to one of our School Fairs.
What do the Parents and Friends do?
Our aim is to raise funds for use within Wyndham Primary School in order to give our children additional experiences and treats.
The money that we raise is used to fund things like:
•Pirate ship and play equipment on the Key stage one yard.
•Willow sculptures for the playground.
•Trees for the Foundation Stage outdoor area.
•Easter egg competition prizes.
What fundraising events do the Parents and Friends organise?
Each year we organise two School Fairs, the Christmas Fair and the Summer Fair. The Christmas Fair is a big occasion and includes a visit from Santa. We put on many stalls for the children including Higher or Lower, Advent Calendar and Christmas Cracker games. In addition we serve teas, coffees and light refreshments alongside the ever popular homemade cake stall. Teachers help to run the stalls and games and we hold an Adults’ and a Children’s Raffle.
Weather permitting the Summer Fair can be held outside. If not, we use both school halls to set up the fair. We have much the same range of stalls and games for the children including Hoopla or Hook a Duck. We decorate biscuits and the teachers join in the fun with Beat the Goalie or even going in the stocks!
Non Uniform Days
The children have around six non-uniform days a year, three in the run up to each of the school fairs. We ask the children to pay a ‘fine’ of chocolate, bottles or pocket money toys which are then used as prizes at the School Fairs.
How can people get involved with the PFA?
