Name: Mrs A Des-Forges
Governor responsibility: Chair of Governors, Co-opted Governor, Behaviour and ICT Link Governor. Chair of the Finance, Premises and Staffing and Chair of the Curriculum sub-committees.
Experience as a Governor: Held role as a governor at Wyndham Primary School since January 2014, prior to this had the role of local Authority Governor at a Northumberland Primary School for four years with varying responsibilities such as link governor for Safeguarding, Early Years, SMSC and Health and Safety.
Experiences that support role as Governor: Mrs Des-Forge worked for Newcastle City Council in the education division for the past fifteen years. Roles have included Professional Assistant to Assistant Director of Education, Project Support and Management roles on the following projects: Newcastle PFI1 Schools, Newcastle Building Schools for the Future Phases 1 & 2, Workforce Remodelling, NHS Lifechecks.
Previously employed as a Policy Officer within the School Improvement Service working with Achievement Partners and School Improvement Advisers to support Newcastle Schools. Other experiences include working within the Local Authority's Press Office as a Communications Adviser (focus on Children's Services) and most recently as the Business Development Officer at Newcastle City Learning Centre. Mrs Des-Forges is currently employed by North Tyneside Council as their Services to Schools Manager.
Name: Mrs Laura Bell
Governor Responsibility: Vice-Chair of Governors. Member of the Standards sub-committee. Literacy Link Governor.
Experience as a Governor: Mrs Bell joined the Governing Body in September 2016.

Name: Miss K Coulter
Governor Responsibility: Teacher Governor. Member of the Curriculum sub-committee.
Experience as a Governor: Miss Coulter has been in role as the Teacher Governor at Wyndham Primary School for since 2009.
Experiences that support role as Governor: Miss Coulter is the Deputy Headteacher at Wyndham Primary School. She currently leads the Early Years Foundation Stage and her whole school responsibilities are Literacy, Data and Assessment. Miss Coulter also has responsibility for Teacher Training and Newly Qualified Teachers, Including School Direct Initial Teacher Training and NQT development. She has been part of the Leadership and Management Team since 2009. In July 2014 she also completed her Masters Degree in Leadership Practitioner Enquiry.
Name: Ms A Lane
Governor Responsibility: Parent Governor. Member of Curriculum sub-committee. Humanities and Arts Link Governor.
Experience as a Governor: Has been a governor since 2014.
Experiences that support role as Governor: Ms Lane became involved with Wyndham
in 2008 when her eldest daughter first came to toddler group followed by her younger son, who both currently attend school. She is a member of the PFA who helps out regularly. Her career background is in childcare.
Name: Mr E Nfon
Governor Responsibility: Parent Governor. Member of Curriculum sub-committee. Science Link Governor.
Experience as a Governor: Has been a Governor since September 2015.
Experiences that support role as Governor: Mr Nfon first became involved with Wyndham School when his elder son began there in 2010 after they moved to Newcastle, to be followed by his daughter and younger son. It has been a truly positive and happy learning experience to all three of them thanks to the teachers and the support staff. Mr Nfon hopes to make a positive contribution to the school and its community. Having completed a PhD in Applied Environmental Sciences in Sweden, he spent a considerable time in basic Research and environmental consulting. Mr Nfon is currently working as a Regulatory Scientist for a Corporate Research Organisation based in Harrogate. He is passionate about early learning and believes that he has some experience that will be useful in helping the school with its mission moving into the future.
Name: Mrs J Rowley
Governor Responsibility: Non-teaching staff governor. Member of Finance, Premises and Staffing sub-committee.
Experience as a Governor: Mrs Rowley has been in role as the Non-teaching staff governor at Wyndham Primary School since 2006.
Experiences that support role as Governor: Mrs Rowley has worked as a Nursery Nurse at Wyndham Primary School for fourteen years. She leads our Playgroup provision and has been the Playgroup Leader for 10 years. Her whole school responsibilities are leading ‘Managing Medicines’ throughout school, this is a role she has had for eight years.
Name: Mrs Rachael Swinhoe
Governor Responsibility: Associate Governor. Member of the standards sub-committee. Numeracy Link Governor.
Experience as a Governor: Ms Swinhoe has been a governor at Wyndham Primary School since September 2014.
Experiences that support role as Governor: KS3/4 Maths Teacher and Lead Practitioner Kenton Secondary School. Mrs Swinhoe also has responsibility for teach first teacher training and NQT development at Kenton School.
Name: Mr T Thompson
Governor Responsibility: Member of the Staffing, Premises and Finance sub-committee and Headteacher's appraisal group. Pupil Premium and SEND link Governor.
Experience as a Governor: Has been a school governor for over 30 years.
Experiences that support role as Governor: Mr Thompson was the senior admin responsible for the organisation of special educational needs in Newcastle for over 30 years before moving into training and development. He was then headhunted by Learning First providing training to adults with special educational needs. He later set up his own company called Delta Training providing Health & Safety training, including first aid and food hygiene throughout the North East region. When he retired he handed the business over to HEADS so profits from the business could be used to support children and parents of Hadrian School. He is also the vice chair of the Compass Trust which involves working with and supporting 4 special schools in Newcastle working together to promote a coordinated approach for the benefit of children in the city.
Name: Mrs J Williams
Governor Responsibility: Chair of Curriculum sub-committee, Safeguarding Link Governor, Able, Gifted and Talented Link Governor.
Experience as a Governor: Mrs Williams has been a school governor since 2005.
Experiences that support role as Governor: Mrs Williams works as a Learning Support Assistant at another local primary school where she now takes the lead on teaching cycling. She is also a tutor for La Jolie Ronde, currently teaching French & Spanish in a nursery setting. Mrs Williams has also been a parent at Wyndham for over twelve years and is very involved in the PFA.
Name: Mr A Arshad
Governor Responsibility: Parent Governor. Member of the Staffing, Premises and Finance sub-committee
Experience as a Governor: Became a Governor in March 2017
Experiences that support role as Governor: Mr Arshad lives close to Wyndham School which all three of his children have attended over the years, two of whom are current pupils. He has mentored graduates and coached newly qualified teachers via programmes run by Newcastle University and Teach First. Having studied Accounting and Financial Analysis at Newcastle University, he went on to become a Chartered Tax Advisor working in the profession since 1999. He currently leads the People Advisory Services team for a Big Four accounting firm in central Newcastle, advising organisations such as public sector bodies, charities, PLCs and football clubs on employment tax matters. He is excited to be taking on the role of a Parent Governor and believes his experience as a parent, coach and finance professional will assist the school in fulfilling its stakeholders’ expectations.
Name: Miss Jolene Blench
Governor Responsibility: Parent Governor, Member of the Standards sub-committee
Experience as a Governor: Jolene has been a Parent Governor since March 2017.
Experiences that support role as Governor: Jolene has three children in the school and is really passionate about theirs, and the other children in the community’s education, she feels all children should want to come to school as it is a fun, exciting and safe place to be. Jolene currently volunteers in the school and supports year 5 with reading and intervention sessions giving valuable feedback to the teacher to allow the children to focus on areas of development. She has received a great response from all the children and finds this really rewarding.
While working as an Account Manager for a FTSE 100 company Jolene managed a team of ten multi-discipline designers and was responsible for presenting their ideas to people at all levels of the business, influencing and negotiating along the way in order to get the best final result for the business. Jolene’s role also involved coaching and mentoring junior members of the team to encourage and support them in their career development. These skills allow Jolene to share her thoughts, ideas and aspirations for the school with confidence as a Parent Governor.
